1 Stage Water Filtration System:

A Coconut shell based Carbon Block Filter - for the removal of chemicals, like chlorine, and harmful organic and organochlorine substances, like endocrine disrupting hormones. Also removes metals, phenols and petroleum products.  Although not its primary function, this filter will also help to remove sediment, sand, grains, silt and rust. This function is normally best fulfilled by a sediment filter, which is found in bigger systems. Please note that by not having a separate sediment filter, as in a one stage system, especially where water contains a high percentage of large particles, your Carbon Block Filter lifespan in this one stage system may be greatly reduced. This means that you will need to replace your filter cartridge often to prevent build-up of large particles on your filter.

The Carbon Block filter is the "work horse" of all Carbon filters, and is recommended above a Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) filter in a 1 stage system. It has a higher density of compacted carbon in the filter when compared to the GAC filter. It can therefore better handle the high workload expected of the Carbon Filtration stage in the 1 Stage System
