Ultraviolet light (UV) is a natural component of sunlight and is widely trusted as a reliable, efficient, and environmentally friendly method for water disinfection. Water is passed through a specially designed chamber where it is exposed directly to UV light. Microorganisms absorb the UV energy, damaging or inactivating their DNA, which stops them from reproducing. Additionally, chemicals and organic compounds break down into smaller, harmless molecules.
